is it compatible with the graphic card:
ASUS ARES/2DIS/4GD5 Graphics adapter - 4 GB - GDDR5 SDRAM
and i7 cpu
?
The motherboard supports a Core i7 CPU but it has to be the correct type. That is a socket 1155 motherboard which just came on the market. The CPU socket is different from the ones used on older versions of the Core i7 which fit into socket 1155 or 1366 motherboards.
The CPU you need will be either the 2500K or the 2600K. They are about $215 and $315 respectively. I would get the 2500K since it is only .1GHz slower than the 2600K. Both CPUs can be overclocked very easily to 4.3GHz giving you a free performance increase.
(GIGABYTE GA-G41M-Combo) is no longer available at Newegg. What alternative do you recommend?

I've updated the $250 Upgrade and $500 Computer Parts Lists to reflect the change.
