In lesson 8 we'll cover both Intel and AMD processors, what features and specs to look for when shopping, and how much you can expect to pay. Processor Warranties
Both Intel and AMD processors are generally very reliable and will last for many years. That said, it's best to buy a processor with at least a 3 year warranty. To buy a processor with a 3 year warranty buy a CPU in a retail box. This will also include a cooler and fan. Processor Reviews To find more reviews do a search in your favorite search engine (Google, Yahoo) for the model number of the processor you're interested in. Now were not saying there aren't any AMD CPU's that are overclockable but right now Intel is so far ahead in speed with standard clocked models and there is so much more headroom in even low end Intel CPU's to be overclocked that it's not really worth buying an AMD CPU.
